Baku Bears weekly update

27 Mar

Hello helloLast weekend saw a revelation for Rangers, the team managed a win, didn’t concede a goal, passed the ball around at deck level and actually looked liked a fitba team rather than the misfits we have gotten used to seeing. The 2 nil result away at Hibs still leaves us 3 points behind with a game in hand in the push for 2nd place in the league. Hearts were deservedly crowned Champions of the league after our beating of Hibs.

The rest of the seasons fixtures are as follows
Home to Cowdenbeath tomorrow with 7 pm kick off
Home to Hearts , Sunday 5th April 16.15 kick aff
Away to Queen of the South, Thursday 9th April, 23.45 kick aff
Home to Faith Rivers, Sunday 12th April 7pm kick aff
Away to Livingston, Wednesday 15th April 23.45 kick off
Away to Dumbarton, Saturday 18th April 7pm kick aff
Home to Falkirk, Saturday 25th April 7pm kick aff
Away to Hearts, Saturday 2nd May, 7pm kick aff

Tomorrow nights game against Cowdenbeath will be shown in the Bear Pit via RTV, kick off 7pm.

Baku Bears update 20th March

20 Mar

Hello helloAnother week, another 2 draws whist falling further behind Hibs for 2nd place in the league.
McCall certainly has his work cut out to try and turn the rabble we call a team into something worthy of the Rangers name.
This week’s game is away to Hibs and will be played on Sunday 22nd with a 4.45pm kick off, game as always will be shown live in the Bear Pit. Hopefully the Baku Bears flag will be making an appearance at Easter Road for the game.
No one took the notice last week about bringing ear plugs so the committee will take a different tack this week by gagging George the doorman with duct tape for the full game!!!!
Onwards and upwards

Baku Bears Weekly Update 13th March 15

13 Mar

Hello Hello
Its been another whirlwind week with yet more changes at our club but still the same shite performance on the park.

Thanks for those members who turned up on Saturday to watch the dire game against Cowdenbeath, the only highlight was being told by a certain member what diseases you can catch from a camel, it’s amazing the facts stored by some people !!!!!

Tuesday evening the regular monthly members meeting was held with 10 people attending. As you’ll be aware from last weeks update , if you read it, we won various prizes in the RCF prize draw.
Anyway it was decided at the members meeting that 1 lucky paid up member will win the star prize of a weekend in New York with accomodation and flights paid for.
The draw for this will take place tomorrow ( Saturday 14th) at half time during the game against Livingston.

As mentioned above tomorrows game is at home against Livingston with a 7pm kick aff Baku time, come on down if even only to see the New York trip draw.

Tomorrow’s game marks the return of Grumpy George the doorman after being on leave so we will be able to watch the fitba whilst getting a running commentary on all sorts of pish. You have been pre-warned to maybe think of taking down a pair of earplugs.

A wee note for your diaries, the End of Season Party is tentively arranged for the 11th July, subject to venue booking.

Time for a wee celebration

7 Mar

Hello helloJust in case anyone has been on the moon the board of our club was removed yesterday in a landslide.
To celebrate the first step on the rehabilitation of Rangers we are going to have a wee celebration in the Bear Pit tonight whilst watching the game against Cowdenbeath. Kick off is 7pm and the Bear Pit will be open from 5.30pm.
Come on down for a swally and gargle.

Baku Bears Weekly Update 6th March 2015

6 Mar

Hello Hello
Today is D Day or more specifically DK Day. Its the long awaited EGM at Ibrox where hopefully the first step in what will be a long road back to our rightful position will take place.

Last week we drew 1-1 with Falkirk. We are 3rd in the league 4 points behin Hibs in second place and a massive 24 points behind Hearts. We do however have 3 games in hand over both Hearts and Hibs.
This weeks game is away to Cowdenbeath who were hammered 10 – 0 last week by Hearts.
Game will be shown via RTV in the Bear Pit with a 7pm kick off on Saturday 7th March.

The club purchased tickets for the Rangers Charity Foundation Lucky Legends Prize Draw which was held earlier this week.
I glad to say that out of the 20 total prizes the Baku Bears won 3 of them including the first prize. The prizes we won are :

  • Weekend for 2 in New York ( flights and accomodation for 3 nights) and a Signed Framed Photo of Brian Laudrup
  • Signed Framed 9-in-a-row 10th Anniversary match jersey
  • Signed shirt by members of the current first team squad

The usual monthly members meeting will be held next Tuesday 10th March in the Bear Pit @ 7pm, looking forward to as many members attending.
During the meeting we will discuss and decide what to do with the above prizes that we won so make every effort to attend and give your views.

If any of the members are going to be home on Saturday the 28th March and fancy going to Hospitality at Ibrox for the Cowdenbeath game can you get in contact with me as i am looking at getting a table booked.

Baku Bears weekly update 19th Feb

19 Feb

Hello helloWas just thinking of copy and paste last week’s update as bugger all has changed. Pumped 2 nil by hibs at home last Friday, the board doing a sterling job of completely screwing up our club…. no change apart from we are now 3rd in the league.

Only Ray of sunshine this week was the Dhims getting all het up coz Inter have been given access to Murray Park ahead of their game at Breeze Block Dome.

It’s the 2nd of the 3 in a row Friday night games this week with an away game against Raith Rovers, kick off is 11.45 pm and the game will be shown in the Bear Pit.
Unfortunately I won’t make it as am en route to Phuket to join in the Oceania Rangers Supporters Association AGM (huge piss up). Will attempt to promote the Baku Bears in the best possible fashion.

Remember if any of the members are shareholders then use your vote or proxy for the upcoming EGM which will now be held at Ibrox on a date yet to be announced.

Baku Bears Weekly Update 9th January

9 Jan

Hello Hello
Firstly the annual Festive raffle draw will take place on Sunday 25th January in the Clansman. Can all members please ensure that you have picked up tickets for selling asap as they have been slow so far due to the holiday period. Also if anyone is intending on donating a prize for the raffle please send a reply to myself by email or let one of the committee know. Full list of prizes will be sent out to members next week.

Another chaotic week at our club with what seems to be the normal bids/take overs/speculation. Here’s hoping that we get to a place of security and stability soon.

Last weeks game against Dumbarton ended up with a 3 – 1 win to the Gers though the football on display was very poor but 3 points is what we need.
We are now 13 points behind Hearts and 6 points clear of Hibs in the league after the Edinburgh duo played a draw last weekend.

This week we return to the plastic pitch of Alloa with the game being played tomorrow with a 7pm kick off Baku time. As usual the match will be shown via RTV in the Bear Pit.

The monthly member’s meeting will be held in the Bear Pit next Tuesday 13th January at 7pm, as always looking for as many members to attend.

It is also with deep sadness to announce that one of our members, Adam MacDonald, passed away over the festive period, our thoughts go out to his family.

Baku Bears Weekly Update 12th December 2014

12 Dec

Hello Hello
Another week, another pish poor performance. Groundhog day seems to have settled into Ibrox.

This weeks game is against Queen of the South tonight ( Friday 12th Dec) with a 23.45 kick off. Match will be shown in the Bear Pit via Rangers TV. There will be an IT person checking the connection prior to the game to ensure all is ok.
As it is coming close to Santa time many of the members will be heading home to be with their families so below is the fixture list for the coming weeks :-

Baku Bears Weekly Update 5th December 2014

5 Dec

Hello Hello
Well Santa is fast approaching but he seems to have forgotten to give Rangers any pre chrimbo presents.
After a good 3 – 0 performance and result against Kilmarnock last Sunday we managed to lose a 2 goal lead to Alloa on Wednesday night.
Lots of internet activity since Wednesday calling for our management team to ‘walk’ away though that is not looking likely.

There was a good turn out last Sunday evening with a couple of the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band providing some additional entertainment.
We can only apologise for the shitty internet connection but this is due to outside telephone wiring in the street and not as someone said down to McCoist’s lack of management skills !!!!

The Monthly members meeting was held on Tuesday with a reasonable turn out by members. Updated minutes will be sent out next week.

This weeks game is against Cowdenbeath at Ibrox tomorrow ( Sat 6th Dec) with a 7pm kick off Baku Time. The game will be shown in the Bear Pit.

Baku Bears Weekly Update 21st November 2014

21 Nov

Hello Hello
Sorry for the late update this week but it has taken me 6 full days to get over that pish we had to watch last Saturday.
In case anyone didn’t know, Rangers managed to drop another 2 points against Alloa ending up 1-1 at Ibrox with McCulloch scoring on 72 mins and Alloa equalising 4 minutes later.
We are now 6 points behind leaders Hearts

This weeks game is looking like a make or break season (and manager) decider already.
Tomorrow we play Hearts away with a 4.45pm kick off Baku time, game will be shown live in the Bear Pit.

Rangers News
Craig Shyte has a second warrant out for his arrest after he failed to turn up at court this week.
Yet again there has been claim and counter claim from the 2 separate factions with regards to the club ownership.
Unfortunately 10 Rangers employees were made redundant this week as part of the ongoing cost cutting exercise.

Baku Bears Weekly Update

30 Oct

Hello Hello
Yet another strange week in the life for a Rangers Supporter, mind you it seems like every week over the past 3 years has been a strange one !!!!.

We won the away league game last Saturday with an eventual 3 nil win over Dumbarton. Goals from Miller, Wallace and Boyd
With Hibs and Hearts sharing the spoils on Sunday we are now 7 points behind Hearts with a game in hand.

A 1 nil win (MacLeod) at Ibrox against St Johnstone in the League Cup saw Rangers progressing into the semi-final with possible opponents being Them, the Sheep or the Arabs.
It was one of the lowest crowds in recent years attracting only 13,023 supporters.

Off the field it’s been a wee bit busier :
Philip Nash resigned as CFO last Friday
Ashley gave a 2 million pound loan facility which was agreed by the board on Saturday
Graham Wallace resigned as CEO on Monday
Derek llambias and Barry Leach became consultants on Tuesday
David Somers (non exec Chairman) became Executive Chairman today

Our next game is another trip to Dumbarton with a Scottish cup tie on Saturday 1st November with a 7pm kick off Baku time. The game as yet has not been confirmed on Rangers TV but either way the Bear Pit will be open for members. If the game is no on the telly then we can have a game of Killer pool and play a few videos/tunes via the internet.

The Clansman is having a Halloween Party tomorrow night (Friday 31st Oct) from 7.30pm onwards, hopefully we will see ‘Wonder woman’ again this year.

Special mention of the week goes to Lucky George who last Saturday broke the Guinness Book of Records for gabbing without taking a breath…yip the whole game – first half, half time and second half !!!!!!
The committee are now considering whether to provide members with earplugs !!!!!

Also attached is an ORSA (Oceania Rangers Supporters Association) October newsletter which was forwarded to the club. Bahrain True Blues and the Dubai Loyal have recently joined ORSA.
