Baku Bears weekly update 8th December

8 Dec

Hello hello
Apologies for no email last week, struck down with the lurgie and had nothing to do with the pitiful display at Tynecastle against the Jam Tarts, honest !!!

Anyway after the very disappointing result and display, the Magic Hat made 5 changes to the line up for the home game against the Mutton Molesters on Saturday. Played a lot better, with some passion and determination, ending with us winning 2-1 and moving back into 2nd place in the league. Its now been 25 years since the sheep won at Ibrox that was the year that the movie Silence of the Lambs was released, coincidence I think not !!!!

This week sees Hearts come to Ibrox with their new 30 year old manager Ian Cathro taking charge for the first time. Game is on Saturday 10th December with a 7pm kick off, game as always will be shown in the Bear Pit via RTV.

As previously mentioned the tickets for the Annual Festive Season are now available, members are requested to take 100AZN worth of tickets for selling. We are still looking for donations of prizes as the response has been very poor to date. Dig deep as its all for our charities. Draw will be on Sunday 15th January in the Clansman.

I am organizing an overseas Baku Bears get together in Glasgow on Tuesday 20th December with swally off at 2pm in a pub in the city centre, let me know if anyone fancies meeting up so I can make forward reservations at Helen Street bed and breakfast !!!!!.
So far George the ex-doorman (ear plugs will be provided), Iain and Derek the Aecom choir (double ear plugs will be provided), Clark the shortest secretary in the Baku Bears history and Davie Hughes Balifov Rovers superstar have confirmed. The more the merrier.

As the festive season is almost on us remember we have club polo shirts, tee shirts, medals and wallets available. Make your Christmas shopping easy and spend more time drinking !!!!
