Baku Bears Weekly Update 11th November 16

Hello Hello
Another week another poor result and display this time against Ross County. A 1-1 draw saw us go back down the table and we are now 3rd in the league 1 point behind the sheep.
Not sure if the result was because of a member of the Ladyboy Loyal deciding to try out his culinary skills instead of watching the game with his mates !!!!!

Unless you’ve been on the moon you will have seen that Joey Barton yesterday finally had his contract terminated after getting a sick note for stress at the weekend. Feck me 18k a week and he’s stressed out !!!

There is no league game this weekend as it’s International fitba with the oldest International game in the world taking place at Wembley. Yes it’s Engerland v’s Scotland in the World Cup qualifiers.
The game is played tonight (Friday 11th Nov) with a 23.45 kick off Baku time. The Clansman will be showing the game live on the big screen and all the tellies.
A lot has been made about the FIFA ban on the players wearing poppies and it’s good to see both FA’s deciding to defy the ban for the game.

This weekend it’s time to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, The Clansman and the club have always supported Poppy Scotland and would ask you to get a poppy and make a donation to a worthwhile cause. Poppies are available behind the bar in the Clansman.

Wear Your Poppy With Pride, November 2016

In Flanders Fields
by John McCrae, May 1915

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields
